Just Thinking
Just thinking
Acrylic on stretched canvas.
This was a project from the time I was in the art school.
I was trying to create a portrait of a person without the person (without a model).
I think that drawing or painting from a model is good exercise, it lets you understand proportions, light and shade, skin tones, etc.
On the other hand when you create something just using your imagination the result will be unique.
You will ask yourself why this color, why these shapes, why that posture, gesture, position, what’s wrong with me, and there will be no right answer.
The Bayou
“When the Allen brothers founded Houston in 1836, they established the town at the confluence of Buffalo and White Oak Bayous. Shortly thereafter, every structure in the new settlement flooded”. (more…)
The Writer
The Writer – Pencil on paper.
This is another unplanned drawing, nobody in particular, just came out like that.
When I draw a face I’m always asked: who is that?
- Nobody you know…

This image is based on a series of photos I took from the bridge that crosses Av. Libertador by the Facultad de Derecho (Law University) in Buenos Aires, Argentina about 12 years ago.
Same technique as usual, photography painted with a digital tablet, this one was printed on canvas. (more…)
Me & My Friends
I submitted this image to JPG Magazine for their theme titled “Growing up”.
I got more than 80 votes and I truly thought that I was going to get it published but I guess it’ wasn’t good enough.
Anyway, they left me a lot of positive comments and also set it as a favorite 55 times which made me really happy.
This is a candid snapshot. The children didn’t know I was there (except the one covering her eyes).
Taken with a 10mm fisheye lens, 1/125 sec at f/2.8, iso 100, Speedlite bounced to ceiling.
Color-processed to black and white.
The Salesman
Pencil on paper. Not much to say. I guess this one is from a series of imaginary portraits that I ‘ve been working on these last couple of years.
On these type of work, there’s no plan. Just start drawing and see what comes out.
Model Study 1
This is a drawing I made when I was at the National School of Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina somewhere around 1997.
Charcoal on paper. I don’t know the name of the model. I didn’t knew back then either.
It was photographed before the digital-camera era, so the quality is not that good.
Also, it was on a very large paper size, so it bent a little.
Enriquez – Digital Collage
Digital Collage of my friend Enriquez.
This was done back in 1999 if I remember correctly in one of the warehouse-classroom at the National School of Arts in Buenos Aires.
