Mexican free-tail bats.
Shot at Austin, TX., from under Congress Avenue Bridge, where this bat colony &#8211; the largest urban bat colony in North America (estimated at 1.5 million) &#8211; shows up every night from mid-March to November.
Of course they are black/brown but when I burned them with the speedlite they get that weird glow.

<p>Mexican free-tail bats.<br />
Shot at Austin, TX., from under Congress Avenue Bridge, where this bat colony &#8211; the largest urban bat colony in North America (estimated at 1.5 million) &#8211; shows up every night from mid-March to November.</p>
<p>Of course they are black/brown but when I burned them with the speedlite they get that weird glow.</p>
<p>Exposure: 1/30 sec at f/4.0, iso 400, focal length: 99mm (1.6 crop).<br />
Speedlite diffused pointed straight at the bats.</p>
